About the Job

Join the team protecting half a billion lives every year with next-gen science, mRNA innovation, and AI-driven breakthroughs. In Vaccines, you’ll help advance prevention on a global scale - and shape the future of immunization.

As Medical Science Liaison, Vaccines, within our Medical Affairs team, you will serve as a trusted scientific partner in the field for external experts and decision-makers, engaging in mutual scientific exchanges to accelerate data dissemination. This is a 1-year, temporary contract position supporting field medical coverage for the vaccines portfolio across Ontario and Atlantic Canada (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador), ensuring continuity of scientific engagement across these territories.

The MSL conducts timely, appropriate, and frequent scientific exchanges with key external experts; executes stakeholder engagement plans to gather data and develop medical insights; and keeps abreast of developments in vaccinology and infectious disease prevention to identify and assess research opportunities — while ensuring full compliance with company, industry, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Main responsibilities:

  • Engage external stakeholders (KOLs, HCPs, public health officials, payers) on medical/scientific exchange for vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases
  • Build and maintain peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and stakeholder partners across the territory
  • Plan and execute territory engagement strategies aligned with the Field-Based Medical Activity Plan
  • Represent Sanofi Medical at relevant scientific congresses/symposia; support speaker training and local advisory boards as needed
  • Gather, record, and report insights from stakeholder interactions to inform Sanofi's scientific messages and strategy
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs, Medical Information, Commercial Operations, Regulatory Affairs)
  • Support evidence-generation activities, monitor disease epidemiology, and support investigator-sponsored study inquiries
  • Manage a defined stakeholder base across Ontario and Atlantic Canada, maintaining an engagement tracking database
  • Ensure proper documentation and handover of stakeholder relationships at the end of the contract term

About You

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a scientific, health, or medical field (MSc, PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent)
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, ability to pass background check
  • 2+ years in pharmaceutical, clinical, or medical affairs industry preferred; MSL/field-based scientific engagement experience preferred
  • Strong scientific data interpretation and communication/presentation skills
  • Ideally resides in Ontario (Atlantic Canada candidates considered)
  • French language proficiency preferred in addition to English fluency, given bilingual territory coverage (notably New Brunswick)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong stakeholder communication, diplomacy, and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of Canadian pharmaceutical/vaccines regulations and codes of practice, particularly non-promotional activity requirements
  • Strong scientific/therapeutic expertise and ability to translate stakeholder feedback into actionable insights
  • Familiarity with Canada's public health, immunization, and regulatory/payer landscape
