Position Overview:
The Medical Education Coordinator provides centralized, cross-GBU operational support across Specialty Care (SPC), General Medicine, and Vaccines business units within Sanofi Canada Medical Affairs. Reporting to the Medical Director, Medical Education & Excellence, this role is responsible for coordinating key medical education programs, ensuring compliance with internal and external guidelines, managing financial record keeping, and supporting the implementation of a robust internal control environment.
The Medical Education Coordinator ensures that ongoing projects align with cross-GBU and medical education objectives, and that data, financials, and compliance activities are consistently tracked and managed using standardized tools and processes across all therapeutic areas. All relevant processes and agreements must be audit-ready at all times.
This position is pivotal in establishing Sanofi as a trusted scientific partner in the healthcare ecosystem, supporting the company's mission to chase the miracles of science to improve people's lives across all therapeutic areas and business units.
Main Responsibilities:
Cross-GBU Program Coordination
Provides centralized operational support across Specialty Care (SPC), General Medicine, and Vaccines business units for all medical educational programs and initiatives.
Coordinates OneCRM data entry and ensures accurate, timely documentation of medical engagement activities across all GBUs.
Supports the Medical Director, Medical Education & Excellence in tracking and reporting on key medical program milestones, metrics, and status updates.
Acts as local coordinator for medical and commercial employees all Canadian educational programs, ensuring milestone progression, reporting, and tracking.
Compliance & Governance
Ensures that all medical activities and engagements are conducted in accordance with Sanofi's compliance policies, applicable regulations, and industry codes (Health Canada/IMC).
Provides compliance guidance to the Medical Affairs team on processes related to Scientific External Expert (SEE) engagements, contracts, and honoraria.
Coordinates Fair Market Value (FMV) assessments and contract processes for SEE engagements.
Ensures that SEE engagement payments are processed accurately and in a timely manner, in alignment with compliance requirements.
Coordinates grant applications (iEnvision, Cybergrant), sponsorships (OneCRM), and honoraria processes.
Liaises with cross-functional partners and teams to ensure timely execution of agreements.
Engages with cross-functional partners and teams to trouble-shoot processes as needed.
Ensures that all processes and agreements are audit-ready at all times.
Budget & Financial Management
Monitors and manages the medical education budget across all GBUs, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting.
Assists in the preparation of accurate metric and financial status reports for cross-functional leadership teams to support Plan of Action planning and business reviews.
Ensures budgeting, timelines, legal contracts, and milestone tracking are maintained with concise and thorough record keeping.
Digital Tools & Systems
Serves as a super-user and local coordinator for OneCRM, ensuring teams are properly trained in system use, requirements, and compliance expectations.
Leverages Power BI to develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide visibility into program performance, budget status, and compliance metrics.
Utilizes the full Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Planner) to support collaboration, reporting, and documentation.
Applies AI-powered tools and digital solutions to enhance operational efficiency, automate routine tasks, and support data-driven decision-making.
About You
Education:
A Highschool diploma required; college or bachelor's degree is preferred.
Work Experience:
A minimum of three to five years of relevant administrative, coordination, or operational experience is preferred, ideally within a corporate or life sciences environment.
Skills & Competencies:
Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and time management capabilities, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Effective project management skills are essential, including the ability to track deliverables, manage timelines, and support multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. Candidates should also demonstrate practical experience with AI-enabled tools and digital platforms, reflecting an ability to leverage emerging technologies to drive efficiency and improve ways of working.
Written and spoken English, and French a definite asset
Travel Requirements:
Approximately 5-10% travel, including domestic and international, to attend internal meetings.
