About the job

The Account to Report (A2R) Reporting team is accountable for the processing of transactions related to accounting and reporting of financial books.

This role will support the A2R Reporting Lead in ensuring the enforcement of accounting standards and reliability of the data collected from management, controllers, tax department and other end-to-end processes. Apart from that, this role will require active participation in driving A2R continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

Core model Implementation

  • Implement and ensure alignment with core model

  • Propose and support any project which aim to align to core model but also transform and automate our processes

Embrace RPA mindset & Operations

  • Ensure quality reporting of legal statutory accounts and consolidation packages within the local regulatory and Sanofi Group calendar timeframes

  • Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS) and company procedures SAGA and GDOPS to ensure integrity of financial information

  • Active participation in various closing governance meetings

  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

  • Highlight potential delays if any

  • Support A2R Reporting Lead in CFO closing meetings by providing detailed analysis and/or explanation of material changes. 

  • Contribute to Sanofi Account Committee and Customer Board preparation and reviews

  • Collaborate with A2R Retained, other End to End processes (P2P, OTC and PS), tax & treasury departments and Country Finance, Finance Operation (FO) to manage and address potential closing risks (pre/post close meetings)

  • Active participation in Sanofi global projects with close collaboration with Project team, Country Finance, FO and other End to End processes (P2P, OTC and PS)

  • Implement successfully A2R Core Model for transitions to KL (inclusive of participation where required in CM presentation & IA workshops)

  • Challenge assumptions and validate results to ensure financial data reflects true business performance.

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with local accounting and regulatory requirements.

  • Align, promote and deliver as per Global A2R Vision, Mission incorporating all Sanofi’s Take the Lead behaviors.

Compliance

  • Maintains strong internal controls by initiating change management to put in place all internal controls process as per A2R Core Model and ensuring compliance to SOX controls and local GAAP

  • Ensure SOX and Internal Control Framework compliance across activities, and partner with A2R Reporting Lead and Country Finance to review, identify and address any gaps.

  • Support external and internal audits by working closely with A2R Reporting Lead and Country Finance

  • Ensure adequate follow up on issues identified during external and internal audit

  • Ensure proper internal control framework and prepare SOA documentation

  • Ensure SOP documentations are updated on timely basis to reflect latest process/tool/policy changes

Continuous Improvements

  • Partner with A2R Reporting Lead in monitoring performance on a continuous basis against agreed SLAs and define corrective actions, where necessary

  • Identify and articulate improvement areas across processes and technology – including ERP and other tools and solutions

  • Support customer satisfaction initiatives, including regular assessment of service satisfaction across Country Finance and other stakeholders

About you

  • Minimum Qualifications: ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or a Bachelor's/Professional Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or an equivalent.

  • Ideally 6 years of relevant working experience in the Finance/Accounting sector/A2R /SSC or more

  • Exposure to multinational or regional corporate business environments, or similar

  • Working experience with SAP, specifically Fi/Co

  • Proficient in the use of applications in the MS-Office suite, including MS-Excel

  • Good English communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Accounting standards: main country of the region and IFRS

  • Working experience in a Finance shared services environment, either captive (in-house) or in a BPO setting, and/or in customer-facing and service-oriented corporate position will be advantageous

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Possess strong analytical skill and attention to detail
