Sanofi Spain is seeking a Market Access Strategy HeadSPC (Immuno-Aliance)
to join our Market Access (MAx) leadership team at a pivotal moment in our journey to become a Launch Powerhouse. This role sits at the heart of our ambition to accelerate patient access to innovative medicines in one of Europe's most complex market access environments — where the average time from EMA approval to reimbursement stands at 616 days, and where agility, strategic thinking, and stakeholder influence are critical differentiators.
Reporting directly to the Head of Market Access Spain, the Market Access Strategy Head will provide strategic leadership across a mixed portfolio of innovative pipeline products and mature brands, coordinating Launch Excellence activities and driving cross-functional alignment to maximize the impact of the MAx team at both national and regional levels. This position will manage a team of 5+ professionals, operating within a complex governance structure that spans national health authorities, regional payers, hospital committees, and global Sanofi stakeholders.

Main responsibilities:
1. Strategic Portfolio Leadership
Lead strategic market access planning for assigned therapeutic areas, balancing the dual reality of innovative pipeline launches and mature portfolio management.
Drive portfolio prioritization and resource allocation in alignment with Sanofi Spain's 2026 priorities, including key assets such as Tolebrutinib, Dupixent, Sarclisa and Rilzabrutinib
Develop and execute pricing & reimbursement strategies in coordination with HEOR and Pricing specialists, ensuring alignment with national and regional payer requirements.
Anticipate and respond to changes in the Spanish healthcare policy landscape, translating them into actionable market access strategies.
2. Launch Excellence Coordination
Coordinate with GBU Heads, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Finance, Corporate Affairs, Trade, Regulatory, and Legal teams to ensure seamless cross-functional alignment.
Drive agility in launch processes to reduce time-to-access and improve patient outcomes in the Spanish market.
3. Value Dossiers & HTA
Oversee the development of high-quality value dossiers and HTA submissions for the Spanish market (AEMPS, regional HTA units).
Ensure RWE and HEOR evidence generation is strategically aligned with payer needs and reimbursement timelines.
Support pricing and reimbursement negotiations at both national (Ministry of Health) and regional (Autonomous Communities) levels.
4. Governance & Compliance
Ensure all market access activities comply with Sanofi's governance framework and applicable Spanish regulations.
Represent MAx Spain in relevant internal governance forums, including GBU TA MAx Teams (global and Key Markets), and support the Head of MAx in Executive Steering Committees.
Participate in Global MAx brand meetings at GLS level and RMAx meetings, supporting.
5. People Leadership Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day coaching, mentoring, and professional development for MAHE and HEOR team members.
Identify and address capability gaps in the team, with a particular focus on: influencing and negotiation skills, stakeholder management, healthcare policy knowledge, and evolving ways of working.
Foster a high-performance team culture aligned with Sanofi's values: Aim Higher, Act for Patients, Be Bold, and Lead Together.
Support talent development initiatives and succession planning within the MAx function.
Manage team workload effectively, ensuring sustainable performance in a high-demand environment — a critical priority given current workload pressures identified in the team's Your Voice results.
About you
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in Market Access, HEOR, or Health Policy roles in Spain.
Proven track record in pricing & reimbursement processes within the Spanish healthcare system, including experience with AEMPS and regional payer negotiations.
Demonstrated experience in HTA submissions and value dossier development for the Spanish market.
Experience leading and developing, with a demonstrated ability to build high-performing, engaged groups.
Strong understanding of the Spanish healthcare system, including the structure of Autonomous Communities, hospital formulary processes, and national reimbursement pathways.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in launch excellence processes within a multinational pharmaceutical company
Background in or exposure to rare diseases, immunology, oncology, or neurology therapeutic areas — aligned with Sanofi Spain's key pipeline priorities
Familiarity with global MAx governance structures and experience interfacing with global or Key Market teams
Experience working in a matrix organization with multiple GBUs and cross-functional stakeholders
Knowledge of private sector access strategies in Spain
Prior experience in people management at a senior level, including capability building and performance management
Exposure to health economics modelling and HEOR evidence generation processes

Agility & Execution: Operate with speed and precision in complex regulatory and access environments; comfortable managing ambiguity and driving decisions with a results-oriented focus on measurable patient and business impact.
Education: University degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Health Economics, or a related field; advanced degree (MSc, MBA, PhD) strongly preferred
Languages: Fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
