The Eurasia Rare Diseases (RD) Medical Team at Sanofi is a high-performing team of Medical leaders who are a trusted source of scientific and Medical information and shared insights; effective and innovative strategic partners to our internal and external stakeholders; and dedicated to public health. We represent diverse experiences and backgrounds which strengthens our team and mirrors the healthcare communities we engage.

The RD Medical Manager will play a key role in developing and executing the medical and scientific strategy for the Turkey RD portfolio/therapeutic area. This role requires close partnership with other functional franchise leads, ensuring alignment with the overall franchise strategy.

About the job:

As Rare Diseases Medical Manager within our Eurasia Rare Diseases Medical Team, you'll lead the medical and scientific strategy for Sanofi's Turkey rare diseases portfolio — shaping clinical practice, driving evidence generation, and connecting global ambition to local impact. Ready to get started?

Based in Istanbul and embedded in a high-performing, diverse team of medical leaders, you will translate global strategies into locally relevant plans for Turkey's unique healthcare landscape. Working closely with cross-functional partners — from market access to clinical — you'll be a trusted scientific voice for both internal stakeholders and the external medical community, with a direct impact on patients living with rare diseases.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of medical launch strategies for new rare disease products — from target audience segmentation (physicians, patient associations, key opinion leaders) through to communication planning and implementation.

  • Build integrated evidence generation plans by identifying local data gaps and unmet medical needs; initiate clinical studies, investigator-led research, and real-world evidence projects to address them — including advocating for Turkey's inclusion in global clinical trials.

  • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with key opinion leaders, professional associations, and patient organizations to gather insights, validate unmet needs, and advance scientific understanding of the therapeutic area.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams — at both country and above-country levels including marketing, market access, health economics, regulatory, and clinical — to ensure medical strategy underpins both patient outcomes and commercial success.

  • Create innovative, digital-first scientific and educational content; adapt communication approaches to healthcare professional preferences using omnichannel tools to deliver meaningful scientific engagement.

  • Contribute to brand and business planning by translating global medical strategies into robust local growth plans tailored to Turkey's healthcare environment.

  • Drive initiatives that raise standards of care and shift clinical practice through scientific exchange, education, and thought leadership.

About you:

Education Background: You are a Medical Doctor or Pharmacist with at least one year of pharmaceutical industry experience in medical affairs (field or office-based).

Pharmaceutical Industry Understanding: You bring strong scientific acumen and the ability to rapidly absorb and apply new data in evolving therapy areas. Experience in rare diseases is a real advantage. You have a solid grasp of clinical development, real-world evidence methodologies, and data gap analysis, as well as a good understanding of market access and reimbursement processes. You have a proven track record in product launches and lifecycle management, and you understand how healthcare systems evolve and what that means for new product introduction.

Customer knowledge: You're confident engaging with key opinion leader networks and healthcare stakeholder communities, and you know how to leverage omnichannel tools for effective scientific engagement.

Language Proficiency: You are fluent in both English and Turkish — written and oral

Comfortable travelling up to 20–30% of the time.

Professional Skills That Make the Difference:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills — able to convey complex science clearly to diverse audiences

  • Collaborative and cross-functional mindset with the ability to influence without authority

  • Solutions-oriented with resilience and adaptability in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking

  • Coaching and mentoring capability
