As a Patient Experience Salesforce Health Cloud Engineer (High touch), you will play a critical role in technical design, development, unit testing, deployment and code quality management that directly support our patient services mission. This position combines deep technical expertise in Salesforce health Cloud with a strong commitment to patient privacy, data security, and healthcare compliance standards.

Main Responsibilities

A Salesforce Health Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable Salesforce solutions using both declarative and programmatic capabilities. This role collaborates closely with product owners, engineering manager, architects, and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality enhancements, integrations, and customizations aligned with business needs and Salesforce best practices.

Candidates are expected to develop and design HIPAA-compliant solutions for Digital patient experience programs, focusing on patient management, care coordination, and payer/provider needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development & Customizations: Develop & review the complex solutions using Apex, LWC, Visualforce, triggers, flows & Omni Components and standard Salesforce features.

  • Code reviews: Act as the health cloud expert, providing technical guidance, making technical decisions, and enforcing best practices.

  • Build and maintain integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, Streaming APIs, and middleware (IICS, AWS API GW, etc.).

  • Work with architects to define integration patterns and data flow designs.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with business analysts and stakeholders to gather, refine, and translate requirements into technical solutions.

  • Integration: Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems using APIs and web services.

  • Quality & Performance: Conduct code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and ensure security, scalability, and data quality.

  • Maintain unit test coverage (≥75%) and ensure reliable CI/CD deployments.

  • Work with version control tools (Git) and DevOps platforms (Copado, Gearset, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).

  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior developers on the team.

  • System Support & Enhancements: Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes.

  • Optimize performance, improve existing automations, and refactor legacy components.

  • Stay updated on Salesforce releases and recommend improvements.

  • Compliance: Ensure all solutions meet HIPAA regulations and healthcare data security standards.

  • Performance & Support: Optimize system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, manage deployments, and provide support for production issues.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.

  • Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation.

Healthcare Compliance and Patient Data Protection

  • Maintain strict adherence to Sanofi Patient Services standards and compliance requirements.

  • Ensure all solutions comply with PHI (Protected Health Information) and PII (Personally Identifiable Information) regulations.

  • Implement GDPR-compliant data handling, storage, and processing practices.

  • Maintain patient data safety and privacy as the highest priority in all technical decisions.

  • Participate in compliance audits and implement remediation actions as needed.

  • Stay current with healthcare data regulations including HIPAA, GDPR, and other applicable standards.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or in Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in software development.

  • Salesforce Expertise: Strong knowledge of Health Cloud features, data models (patient/insurance), and core Salesforce.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Apex, LWC, Visualforce, Salesforce APIs, Triggers, Flow builder, OmniStudio and platform security.

  • Healthcare Domain Knowledge: Understanding of provider/payer processes, US healthcare ecosystem, and compliance.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder management.

  • Managing version control and repositories for Salesforce projects.

  • Providing technical support and guidance to Salesforce users.

  • Reviewing and merging work in source control.

  • Development knowledge in Salesforce Health Cloud, CSS, JavaScript, LWC, VSCode, and GitHub

  • Knowledge of Agent force is desirable

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices to streamline development and deployment workflows.

  • Certifications: Salesforce Certified platform Developer I & Salesforce Certified platform Developer II and Accredited Health Cloud Professional
