About the job
Join the Metabolism Research Group at Sanofi Frankfurt
The Metabolism Research group at Sanofi's BioCampus Frankfurt is a vital component of our global Lab Science/TMU organization. We are at the forefront of biotransformation research, specializing in the elucidation of metabolite for both new chemical and biological entities.
Our team's core objectives span all global Sanofi programs and include:
- Identifying metabolic liabilities: We pinpoint potential issues early in research up to the drug development process.
- Optimizing drug candidates: Our work directly contributes to enhancing the efficacy and safety of potential treatments.
- Detecting reactive metabolites: We strive to mitigate risks of adverse effects, ensuring safer drug development.
- Discovering pharmacologically active metabolites: Our investigations may uncover new therapeutic candidates.
As part of Sanofi's innovative Immunoscience approach, we collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including experts in research, development, pharmacology, and toxicology.
Your Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct independently biotransformation studies of novel biotherapeutics (nanobodies, antibodies) within our metabolism laboratory team.
- Develop and implement tailored LC-MS strategies and workflows to each project/construct to analyze in vitro and in vivo studies and to identify biotherapeutic degradation products
- Drive innovation by implementing cutting-edge analytical technologies and proteomic/metabolite identification software
- Develop automated workflows to enhance efficiency in data evaluation and establish models predicting biotherapeutics instabilities
- Present and discuss your results to global metabolism experts, to the project teams, and Lab Sciences colleagues
About you
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive hands-on experience with:
- Ultra-high resolution MS instrumentation
- Multiple fragmentation techniques (CID/ETD)
- Manual MS spectra interpretation
- Proven expertise in protein characterization methodologies (Top-Down, Middle-Down, Bottom-up approaches) and extraction technologies (immunocapture approach)
- Advanced MS data processing and analysis capabilities, preferably for proteomics analyses
- Experiences in protein chromatography (µPLC/micro-LC/nano-LC)
Professional Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Track record of contributing to scientific publications
- Strong collaborative mindset for cross-functional team environments
- Experience in biotransformation of biotherapeutics (preferred)
Education:
PhD degree in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, food chemistry, or pharmacy
LanguageRequirements: German/English: fluent in speaking, reading, writing
