About us
You will write your Master-Thesis in our team and be advised by biostatisticians from Sanofi’s Evidence Generation and Decision Science (EGDS) unit who are specialized in Immunology & Inflammation. You will have access to expertise in Clinical Statistics, Statistical Modelling and Real-World Evidence.
Topic:
Context: Treatment effects in clinical studies are affected by natural variability in the population, adding to uncertainty in estimation. Classic analysis approaches often only adjust for a small number of patient characteristics to account for this.
Solution: PROCOVA is an innovative analysis approach using patient-based prognostic scores derived from multiple patient characteristics. Adjustment by these scores allows for more precise estimation and increase in power, potentially leading to smaller sample sizes
Your task
Develop and implement a PROCOVA score for Hidradenitis Suppurativa
Prepare extensive datasets available from Placebo patients collected in multiple clinical studies (i.e. selection of relevant studies, dataset creation following programming standards)
Systematic analysis and documentation of patient characteristics and data limitations
Implement various prognostic models using different methodological approaches
Perform evaluation and comparison of models using real clinical data
Document and present results and recommend actions for future PROCOVA modelling
Requirements & Qualification
You are in your studies of Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics (or similar) and you have to write your masters thesis (please let us know the processing time for the thesis according to your examination regulations)
Good programming knowledge in R is a requirement, SAS is an advantage. Experience with GitHub is desirable
A plus: Experience in working with medical data and Machine Learning
Keen interest in pharmaceutical processes
Ability to work independently and as a team player
Highly motivated analytical problem solver with a keen eye for detail and a strong self-motivation
Excellent communication skills
Fluent spoken and written English (required) and German
