About the job
North Europe GenMed Medical Operations Lead, under the oversight of the Country/MCO Medical Head, in International Markets or Key Markets, the North Europe GenMed Medical Operations Lead is leading the execution of MCO/country medical plans according to the Global medical brand/customer plans, defined at GBT/GMT level.
To that effect, the North Europe GenMed Medical Operations Lead, in collaboration with the local medical teams (Prelaunch/Launch Therapeutic Areas, Growth and Established Products) will contribute to lead the strategic directions and operational implementation of the Brand Medical Plans within the countries/MCOS of the segment, according to the strategic objectives, driving operational and budget planning, overseeing resource allocation to ensure appropriate prioritization of medical projects and studies in achieving Brand/Therapeutic area goals.
The North Europe GenMed Medical Operations Lead is responsible for contributing to the right implementation of the strategic planning and the execution of the medical plans, including integrated evidence generation. Project management and strategic thinking are critical competencies in this role to ensure launch excellence and seamless execution with appropriate allocation of resources and continuous risk assessment.
In the context of evolving environment and medical transformation, she/he is expected to identify innovative solutions and act with an agile mindset, with strong result orientation and openness to anticipate changes.
The North Europe GenMed Medical Operations Lead acts within a complex global, multicultural and matrix organization as a point of contact between different function interfaces. To be successful in this role, strong leadership, collaborative approach, and stakeholder engagement abilities are also required.

Main responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution of the Country/MCO Medical plans
- Contributes to the right operational implementation of the Medical Plans within the countries/MCOs, establishing and executing strategic objectives.
- Leading the execution of the Medical Launch Excellence within the x-functional launch excellence teams.
- Monitors and challenges projects teams to drive execution of plans in line with project strategy (scope, budget, time, quality).
- Drives the periodic country/MCO medical performance reviews, on operations, budget planning, overseeing the appropriate prioritization of medical projects.
- Coordinates the definition of Key performance indicators/ Key impact indicators, performance metrics to ensure excellence in execution, implementation of Brand/Therapeutic Area strategies, efficient planning, and execution of medical activities.
Budget
- Oversees, follows, and actively consolidates the Country/MCO Medical Budget (both Medical Management and Clinical) and spending, identifying and managing variances and budget challenges, proposing resource reallocation to ensure accurate forecasting and expense reconciliation, proposing solutions and mitigations strategies as necessary to ensure Brand/TA medical strategic objectives are met.
Alignment/Leadership
- Facilitate collaboration with internal and external stakeholders: eg CSO/CSU, RWE Global Team, Finance, Medical Hub and Medical Omnichannel, Global Medical Operations and other key stakeholders interacting with the country/MCO medical teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Be point of contact for the Global Medical Operations & Effectiveness team to facilitate the adherence of local teams to global processes.
- Manage and enforce medical compliance in alignment with global policies and ensures medical activities are implemented with respect of the highest ethical standards.
Transversal projects
- Contributes or facilitates (as appropriate) the implementation at local level of the internal projects intended to simplify and optimize the medical transformation processes and resources. Coordinates project activities, when appropriate, within his/her country/MCO, to allow optimal progress in decision-making.
- Lead/co-Lead internal operational meetings/working groups.
- Enhance performance & ensure continuous process improvement and simplification for the benefit of business objectives related to medical activities.
About you
- Degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., BS, MS, PhD, PharmD, MD, DVM) or related degree desired.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in project management, including planning, budget planning and executing complex strategies.
- Knowledge of project planning tools, budget structure and management.
- Business qualification such as MBA, or Professional project management qualification such as PMP® or Agile Methodology would be considered as additional benefit.
- Experience in drug development, medical affairs, or related field, including understanding of the current pharmaceutical environment.
- Experience in managing complex projects, demonstrating effective communication and leadership, ability to bridge successfully between different fields of expertise and managing program risks and challenges (including scenario and contingency planning).
- Transversal communication and networking demonstrated. Managerial and interpersonal skills applied to matrix organization, effective international, cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, agile, and strong team player, with global experience.
