The Head of Global Device Digital & Data Science leads a diverse team of experts responsible for driving digital innovation, digitalization, advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and technical excellence across Sanofi's Global Device Unit.
This role is accountable for establishing and implementing strategic direction in computational modeling, data science, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence to optimize critical design, testing, and manufacturing processes throughout the entire product development lifecycle.
The position holder drives the integration of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enhance development efficiency, product quality, and manufacturing performance while ensuring regulatory compliance. They are responsible for building and maintaining high-performing teams that deliver value through digital twins, simulation, advanced data analytics, and AI-driven solutions that support Sanofi's ambition to lead the industry in device-mediated therapies.

Main Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Vision: Develop and implement the strategic vision for Digital & Data Science that drives innovation and digital transformation across GDU, aligned with Sanofi's corporate objectives and long-term business goals.
Technical Excellence and Innovation: Lead the implementation of cutting-edge technologies including computational modeling, digital twins, AI, and advanced analytics to optimize device design and manufacturing processes while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Team Leadership and Development: Build, develop, and retain high-performing teams across multiple technical disciplines, establishing clear objectives and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Management :Establish effective partnerships with internal stakeholders (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory) and external partners, representing GDPU Digital & Advanced Data Use in senior leadership forums and ensuring alignment between technical strategies and business needs.
Budget and Resource Management: Establish effective partnerships with internal stakeholders (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory) and external partners, representing GDPU Digital & Advanced Data Use in senior leadership forums and ensuring alignment between technical strategies and business needs.
Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Establish effective partnerships with internal stakeholders (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory) and external partners, representing GDPU Digital & Advanced Data Use in senior leadership forums and ensuring alignment between technical strategies and business needs.
About You
Education & Experience:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field is required
Advanced degree is preferred
A minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership roles within digital transformation, data science, or related fields in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry is required
Proven track record of implementing digital strategies and driving innovation in a regulated environment is required
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Experience in managing large, multi-disciplinary teams across different geographic locations and in a matrix environment
Familiarity with FDA and other regulatory requirements for computational modeling, data management, and software validation
Proficiency in multiple languages (English required, additional languages beneficial)
This position may require up to 35% overall travel

Expertise in computational modeling, digital twins, and simulation technologies
Proficiency in data science, AI, and advanced analytics methodologies
