Job summary
Lead the end-to-end Master Data processes across all Order to Cash business scenarios within Sanofi's Order to Cash (O2C) organization, encompassing customer master data, commercial policy framework compliance, and export master data management. This senior level role provides leadership to a team of 3 senior professionals with diverse expertise in master data management. Craft and execute core data governance models and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives to ensure operational excellence across all regions. As master data is the cornerstone of process excellence and customer experience, this role is pivotal in driving any global projects, solutions, business integration, and carve-out activities by ensuring strategic data integrity and commercial compliance.
Main responsibilities
1. Global Master Data Leadership:
Architect and optimize all master data management processes across Order to Cash scope
Masterfully design and govern comprehensive data models for customer master data, export master data, and related flows In partnership with Trade GPL, establish and implement commercial policy framework compliance models across all regions
Conceptualize and deploy innovative data solutions that directly impact revenue recognition, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction
Engineer solutions to eliminate data quality issues and bottlenecks across all business scenarios
2. Team Leadership & Development:
Provide strategic leadership and develop a team of 3 senior professionals in master data management
Establish and nurture a culture of data excellence and commercial compliance within the team
3. Data Governance & Innovation:
Masterfully design and implement the Master Data Core Model covering large scope of data from the back office S4 Hana, Salesforce service cloud, web portal to ensure real E2E consistency and proper management e.g customer data, export data, and related flows, transactional tables, contact maps, Web portal contract terms
Provide oversight for the technical design and data governance aspects of global implementations Strategically benchmark against industry best practices and engineer improvements
4. System Architecture & Technology:
Engineer integrations between master data systems and operational applications In partnership with Business Enablement, design of technical solutions for commercial policy framework implementation and monitoring
Pioneer future-proof solutions incorporating emerging data technologies
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment:
Forge partnerships with regional teams and neighboring functions Drive architectural alignment across geographies for standardized data processes
Establish strategic partnerships with Export Control and Compliance teams for export master data optimization
6. Risk Management & Compliance:
Lead strategic collaboration with legal and compliance teams to architect solutions addressing regulatory changes
Ensure comprehensive data classification, privacy, and security measures are implemented
Define risks and ways to mitigate them, and support zero deficiencies regarding SOX controls
7. Process Innovation & Automation:
Lead strategic collaboration with the Automation COE to implement RPA and other digital solutions
Based on the scope described above: design, organize and implement overall framework of data quality management supported by the automation COE
Identify opportunities for process simplification and optimization
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Management, or related field; MBA or Master's strongly preferred
12+ years of experience in Order to Cash processes, with extensive focus on master data management
Proven executive track record in data governance and process transformation within a global organization
Comprehensive mastery of SAP S4/HANA, MDG, and other master data management systems
Strategic understanding of commercial policy frameworks and compliance requirements
Extensive experience in export control and trade compliance
Authoritative knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations and compliance requirements

Proven expertise in commercial policy framework design and implementation
Advanced expertise in export master data flow optimization
4. Executive Project Management:
Superior project management skills, PMP certification a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
Proven track record of successful global project delivery
5. Financial Acumen:
Comprehensive understanding of financial processes and their impact on master data
Strategic understanding of O2C impacts & levers in improving Finance KPIs
Advanced understanding of commercial policy impacts on financial processes
6. Communication:
Outstanding ability to communicate complex data concepts to various audiences
Superior presentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus
Proven ability to translate business needs into actionable recommendations
7. Stakeholder Management:
Proven executive ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
Advanced negotiation and influencing skills
Extensive experience working in matrix organizations
Superior ability to manage diverse stakeholder expectations
8. Risk Management:
Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks in data processes
Extensive experience in designing internal controls
Advanced knowledge of export control risk management
