About the Job

The Director, Reimbursement Education Liaison role will engage different/relative stakeholders within the ecosystem of healthcare around our portfolio of vaccines.  In this role, the Director, Reimbursement Education Liaison (DREL) will establish and sustain reliable company relationships with large, organized customers/medical groups in a fully compliant manner as per Sanofi guidelines and FDAMA regulations, with key decision makers such as Director of Reimbursement, Director of Finance, Revenue Cycle Teams, etc. The DREL will focus on supporting entities with a large national footprint, supporting the National Accounts Team. The DREL will serve as the lead and first line of support for the Reimbursement Education Liaison Team to support external facing engagements and liaise with internal partners and key stakeholders (Market Access, Sales Leadership, Marketing, Cross-BU departments). The DREL will be the liaison between Senior Leaders and the Reimbursement Team to educate on trends, obstacles, and opportunities.

The DREL will help develop the strategic plan for the Reimbursement Education Team, as well as pilot any necessary concepts and marketplace engagements. The DREL will help plan, develop, and lead trainings and workshops for the Reimbursement Education Team. This includes working with internal partners, as well as external vendors to source and create content to support additional skill build for the team. The DREL will also be the lead for engaging professional/ trade organizations in the Finance/ Revenue Cycle space.

The DREL will also work closely with the Value & Access team to help resolve reimbursement issues for Sanofi Vaccines portfolio in the Commercial and Managed Medicaid space.

The Director, Reimbursement Education Liaison role is under the Value & Assessment domain within Market Access. The team has a broad level of experience in multiple segments and therapeutic areas across the industry. The expansive experience has created a dynamic team focused on being leaders with marketplace knowledge and expertise on the healthcare ecosystem. The team prides itself on being at the forefront of the continued evolution of healthcare. The team leads with innovation and strong cross-functional relationships to support an exceptional customer experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead Reimbursement Education Liaisons with emphasis on delivering an exceptional customer experience while keeping internal stakeholders abreast of marketplace dynamics

  • Lead Reimbursement/Access service offerings for Sanofi Vaccines within the Large Organized Customer space engaging key stakeholders with executive level presence- Focus on organizations with large national footprint supporting the National Accounts Team

  • Consistently monitor the marketplace for market access issues impacting patient and provider access, identifying threats and opportunities, and adjusting strategy in response to changes and latest trends

  • Synthesize observations and feedback from team on best practices and challenges to continuously improve total market approach, inclusive of access strategies and field engagement

  • Develop the strategic plan for the Reimbursement Education Team, as well as pilot any necessary concepts and marketplace engagements (ex. Private Equity Firms or Payers)

  • Adapt existing tools to a more health system/medical group focus to identify and satisfy customers’ reimbursement needs

  • Serve as a resource to Market Access and Reimbursement leadership team to analyze business opportunities and coordinate cross-team initiatives in process improvements and efficiencies

  • Establish positive and productive working relationships with all key customer segments (internal and external) including Market Access, Sales Leadership, Marketing, Cross-BU departments

  • Ensure compliance requirements around reimbursement/access teams stay up to date with quality control measures in place to ensure adherence to requirements

  • Develop and conduct reimbursement specific trainings for broader commercial operations teams in compliance with Sanofi guidelines including new hires, refresher trainings, ongoing project(s), and technical trainings

  • Responsible for meeting performance metrics established on programs and inform internal/external stakeholders

THE SKILLS & CAPABILITIES

  • Financial experience, vaccines understanding - Strong understanding of financial analysis/revenue cycle

  • Develop and interpret content in keeping with client requests and needs in compliance with Sanofi guidelines

  • Attention to building and maintaining customer relationships to achieve success

  • Demonstrates Executive Presence in all types of interactions, boardrooms, in-person & remote

  • Collaborates across functional, geographic, and company boundaries to meet mutual business objectives

Qualifications:

  • Travel up to 50% of time

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred

Experience:

  • 7-10 years pharmaceutical industry experience

  • 5+ years of experience in reimbursement related function (Vaccines a plus) preferred

  • Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical industry; Buy & Bill experience is a preferred within Vaccine space

  • Executive level engagement and people leadership skills

  • Experience in leading teams with demonstrated success in reaching organization objectives

  • Ability to work cross-functionally, both at the field level and with internal corporate functions

  • Interpersonal skills including managing & resolving conflict, building strong working relationships

  • Ability to adapt to change and react constructively in a high-energy and fast paced environment

  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills

  • Demonstrated track record as a high-level performer

  • Demonstrated success leading and managing projects

  • Maintain compliance with all applicable Sanofi policies and procedures, regulatory and legal requirements, and help to monitor compliance during cross functional team interactions
